$25 statement pieces that will breathe new life into your personal style
1-of a-kind, affordable fashion & decor from the miraculous vendors of Jazz Fest
Everything that we create is art, and all art comes from love. Whether it’s made in the absence or abundance of it - we create to understand & bask in love.
Hi!!!
If you are around on IG you would know that I just had the best weekend of my LIFE in NOLA at my first Jazz Fest. It was better than I expected it to be which is rare because my high (delusionary) expectations for most things tend to fall short.
Yk the saying “youth is waisted on the young” - if I had gone to Jazz Fest for the first time any previous year as I planned to, this experience would have been akin to that.
If not for the past year of really reallllly deep self exploration- shedding my Ego & truly meeting my Inner Artist - I wouldn’t have the capacity to appreciate every little detail of expression (love) in the way that I have. I can’t want to share my found treasures & realizations with you.
There’s a lot I need to reflect on before I get into the esoteric stuff - so today’s post is all about the INCREDIBLE STYLING & VENDORS I CAME ACROSS. Sharing my personal outfits as well on da gram.
Enjoy!
Style Notes
OKK now for some insane finds -
Angel Bands
Created by the beautiful Ragan, Angel Bands are handmade leather cuffs that bring all of my mystic superwoman dreams to fruition. Browse fringe necklaces and one of a kind cuffs featuring elements from suede to gemstones. I took home the silver guy (right).
AJA Aluminum Jewelry Art
Husband & wife designers, coined “jewelry gypsies” create mystical aluminum pieces spanning earrings, full body necklaces, and cuffs. Adore!
Muso Masiri “The Decoration of Women”
Created by Baba from Mali in West Africa, he travels to and from to collect the materials for his handmade art. He incorporates everything from bones, to beads, to old car radiators in his designs. Took home this incred straw and brass cuff that I haven’t taken off since!!
Artwear by Robbie
One of my favorite finds of the weekend - Robbie comes from Brooklyn, NY and handcrafts her leather bags using “wet or heat formed leather shapes”. Her designs are inspired by art, the Caribbean, & nature and every bag is one of a kind!
Bamboozle By Lavalis
Created by master jeweler, Lavalais - his earring, bracelets, and rings feature bamboo, silver, and bone. His earrings are especially notable IMO- the bone appears as though its pushed right through the lobe and it’s just so cool.
Ellen Macomber
Ellen is a multi-hyphenate artist with collections spanning fashion & visual art. I imagine dressing myself in one of her Velvet Caftans - exiting a luxurious bath in a patinated brass tub, heading to a candle lit bar for a Negroni. Sooo in shorter words, CHIC! This fringe eyeball clutch is also so perfect.
Anaya Bazaar
Curators of Moroccan apparel & jewelry, they source all the way from Marrakech souks. I picked up this incredible vintage bone cuff for $25 (center image) More pics on IG!
Eagle Vision Crystals
Jason’s passion for crystals and gemstones led him to jewelry creation with aspirations to heal the mind, body, and soul through close proximity to his high energy pieces! If you’re into chunky statement rings deff take a look here.
Djenohan African Arts
Francois has been carving his unique designs since his teenage years, taught by his grandfather in Abidjan. Now he curates one-of-a-kind carvings from West Africa that are life giving!!
Secondline Jewels
This jewelry is created from chunks of broken drum cymbals!!! How cool. Deff checkout their extravagant two-tone necklaces- they’ll do all of the styling work for ya!
Veronica Casares Lee Designs
I do not have wordssss for these. They are some of the most detailed hand painted clay pieces I have ever seen that evoke so much emotion in me. I want one in every room of my house.
This was a lot of fun I would love to do it again. Let me know what you thinkkkk…
