hi!
this past week was sooooo much fun - I had my hands in both interior and fashion sourcing a fair amount & am entering a new week creatively juiced tf up.
I must to show you some unique finds from this week because they are simply too good not to share - but before that, some quick client feedback that made my heart burst a little.
“The last time I remember being this excited to get dressed I was 30 pounds lighter. I was honestly a bit nervous about figuring out how to dress my current body and trying out new styles because my style has also changed so much since I last remember trying to look “nice” on a regular basis. Bari so effortlessly rejuvenated my closet & mindset, and I actually look forward to getting dressed now which is kind of wild.” - BK
“Bari was incredibly receptive to my desire to shop second hand and took this very seriously. She chose clothing items from second hand and retail stores that were in excellent condition in addition to new items that she trusted would last a very long time in my closet. I also absolutely love the detailed notes on all of my looks in my look book. It has helped me understand why the look works and how to build on it in the future.” - CC
Beautiful, stunning, tear jerking. If you’d like to chat about your style goals in this brand new opportunistic year, schedule a style discovery call with me below.
Coming in hot with the sick finds from this week - an INSANE Bode Jacket Dupe that I actually bought for myself (& will prob sell through my Vintage Closet one day). This was the inspo.
incredible, brilliant, $2200.
So when I saw this wool number my heart skipped a beat…
A better photo is coming sometime soon, apologies. It’s by no means a carbon copy of the original jacket, but checks off the boxes that resonated with my style POV enough to satisfy the itch.
→ the length, with lighter outerwear like blazers & jackets - I only really wear pieces when the hem hits me about 2-5 inches below my hip bone. Any higher and I find that I’m craving more coverage & room, & also disallows me to wear my under-layer untucked bc the proportions are off. This hits me at just the right spot which checks off my first box.
→ harmony with my wardrobe staples, I I know this jacket will jive with my most frequented under-layers which consist of neutral cotton t-shirts, much like the grey one I’m wearing above. The neckline is complimentary to crew-necks which are my go-to & still offers availability to highlight my everyday necklaces
→ personality, I don’t often incorporate pattern & color unless through outerwear, accessories, and occasionally bottoms. This jacket could very easily bring life & a sense of unexpectedness to looks that feel dull, in a way that feels very natural to me. it’s also neutral enough to live this close to my face, I usually hate color on/ around my top half (unless it’s blue).
This is the beauty of really understanding your style POV- it allows you to become more intentional in decision making when you approach items that speak to you. Becoming conscious of your style POV is how you avoid impulse purchases that turn into purchase regret. Send me a DM on IG if you’re curious how to begin understanding your unique style lens.
When I found this fab jacket, I was actually out interior hinting for a specialty sourcing client of mine. He’s freshening up his office, desiring to be reminded of more sophisticated tokens & accents he loved in his tastefully done childhood home.
For his office inspo think this:
and this:
So essentially a sourcing dream come true bc hello, this is my my bread and butter. Proof in that I sourced this beauty a few months ago.
